Piramal Foundation
India needs sustainable solutions that are innovative and have the potential of delivering a steep change in results.
Against this background, Piramal Enterprises Limited set up the Piramal Foundation in August 2011 to ensure that all its CSR / philanthropic activities are undertaken through a dedicated organisation.
The Piramal Foundation’s approach to creating an impact is to not only to innovate solutions that are replicable, but also to provide risk capital to promising ideas and incubate them to achieve scalable results.
Piramal Foundation believes that bringing impact at scale across diverse geographies and communities can be achieved through partnerships with governments and like-minded organisations.
In line with Millennium Development Goals, we are focused on universal primary education, primary healthcare and nutrition and improving access to safe drinking water. Our Initiatives are as follows:
- Primary Healthcare & Nutrition – Piramal Swasthya works towards enabling preventive, promotive and curative primary healthcare provisions especially to most vulnerable sections, leveraging Information communication technology platforms, improving health status of society.
- Education – Piramal Foundation for Education Leadership works on inculcating the right mind-set & leadership skills to Government School Headmasters, to positively impact the quality of education in public schools.
- Youth Empowerment – The Gandhi Fellowship is a catalyst in creating change agents and nation builders. These young Fellows work at the grass root level, taking on real challenges and solving live problems, it enables them to develop their skills, discover themselves, their passion, realize their potential and cause positive, systematic, exponential and lasting change in the society.
- Safe Drinking Water – Piramal Sarvajal is making clean, affordable, safe drinking water accessible in a sustainable manner to underserved communities.
